Upgrade client to 8.82 pl 09

Dear,

Im looking at the release notes to perform an upgrade.

In the release note for pl 09 is stated that an upgrade to pl 05 has to be performed, before upgrading to pl 09.

What exactly does this mean?

* Upgrade server + db + clients to pl 05

Upgrade server + db+ clients to pl 09

or

* Upgrade server + db to pl 05

Upgrade server + db + clients to pl 09

Or more specific:

Is there a need to upgrade all clients to pl 05 and then to pl 09, or are clients safe to upgrade from 8.81 version to 8.82 pl 09
