Adding files

Dear SDN support,

There're times that adding a screen shot of the problem or a specific log/trace file, can help in providing help.

Why there isn't an optio of attaching a file to the forum message ?

Hi Dimitry,

There are two issues.

Performance: We just yesterday crossed the 300 concurrent users in the forums mark (Weblog in the making). We are so far quite happy with the scalability of the system in that regards, but internal we did a trial run and added file attachments and it really impacted the system. We don't want that.

Liability: We don't want to have the case of you getting a virus because you downloaded an attachment from a forum post.

Two strokes against it.

Workaround: Nowadays it is quite easy to host pictures somewhere on the Internet, do that and link to it.

Well I think I need to keep digging into the lists at the office I must have missed that one

This is something that has been requested in the past and as far as I know it is on the development list, I will double check.
