Restriction in the number of phrases displayed in F4 help

Hello,

I have one question about the possible number of phrases which I get displayed in the F4/ Search help in CG02 for one characteristic.

So more or less I need to know if there is a restriction how many phrases can be shown in the pop up window.

Dear Kathrina

I am not aware of any limitation here. If you are a "big company" e.g. you will need a high number of "Dangeours goods hazard inducers" which are reflected by phrases and which are part of a Phrase set so that you could maintain DG master direct (without DG filling).

A number of properties/value assignment types contains the characteristic "species" (e.g. in tox and ecotox). Depending on company etc. you can have more than 2000 phrases in phrase set.

The other way around: the use of F4 help here "might frustrate" the end user. You have the ability to "sort" the phrases, to search for phrases in the F4 help; so normally phrases can be selected easily.

If you take a look in customizing you will an "user exit" regarding phrase sets, which can be used to "enhance" the F4 help if necessary.

I have ound so far no real limitation here and never received e.g. a "short dump" if the number of phrases are to high.

The "F4" window might be "limited" in the look and feel but because of sort function and search function this is no real limitation.

The "only" con of the F4 help: is: in F4 help you will only see: code, text, remark of the phrase; but you will get no indication if a "graphic" is assigned to the phrase;

That's as well what I thought...but wasn't sure because I did not find anything really helpful about it in SAP help.
