Red X in printpreview/print of template charts in Internet Explorer

Hi,

with the last release of the Netweaver 7.30 we got a problem with printing of Web-Charts from Web-templates.

Now Webtemplates show an "red X" instead of the chart when going into print preview of the Internet Explorer or trying to pring a chart out of a
webtemplate. They do show the correct graphics - when just viewing it...

Has anybody an idea whats wrong? Because - the logo shows even fine in Print-Preview of IE.

Johannes

i got few questions about this

does it only happen on 1 computer?

what version of IE are u using?

can you print out the chart and does it show you the chart on the paper? just not working in preview?

have tried to print out a PDF?

do you have export option available in your WAD, not through IE.

Hi,

thanks for asking for details:

  1. It happens on all of our companys PCs
  2. We are working with IE8 - but the issue is verifed with IE9
  3. Print and Print-Preview have the same issue. Just the chart is marked with the red x - the logo shows fine.
  4. Creating a PDF out of the "standard" feature works.
  5. Export to Excel(mhtml) and CSV is enabled.

I realy don't understand why the print preview seems not to work - because the chart itself appears in regular view.

It is not possible to get the graphics url - and just try to put in the URL to get graphics alone. But it is possible to right-click and download the chart-graphics.

Hi,

there was a correction in SP8 which corrects the issue. The Java-Stack put out a very low Cache-Life-Time.

Dear Johannes,

                          Try the following:

1. Turn on Compatibility View on the address bar, by clicking the Compatibility View button

2. If you see a message on the bottom of the IE window, stating, "JAVA Applet failed", check proxy settings in the Java control panel and your browser

3. The JRE is not configured correctly - COnfigure it once again

4. Verify that Show Pictures has not been turned off in Internet Explorer

5. Make sure scripting, ActiveX controls, cookies, and Java applets are enabled in Internet Explorer

Hope this helps.

Cheers!!!
