Dear Sri,

Can you just login to ABAP stack of the PI system and check if you can login successfully?

Then, in tx. SICF, navigate to the service /sap/xi/engine and check if it is active.

Hi Sri,

Could you please test the affected RFC destination in tx. SM59 in the caller system (the button 'Connection Test')? If the error is still returned, please go to tx. SMICM and navigate in the menu: Goto -> Trace File -> Select All to access ICM trace file (dev_icm). In the displayed file, search for the error details and please provide them for further analysis.

Connection request from (4..) to host: PI, service: 11222 failed (NIECONN_REFUSED)

Dear Sri,

Can you please double-check the service that is specified in the RFC destination? From the ICM trace file extract that you provided the service looks to be 11222 whereas normally ICM port is 5<instance number>00. Please also check the host name - is it PI?

Hey ,

I actually chnged the service value for this post...as its confidential..its 5<instance number>00 only in the actually system.

Sorry for the confusion..

Hi Sri,

Well, will it be possible for you to increase ICM trace level to maximum in the caller system (in tx. SMICM, choose in the menu Goto -> Trace Level -> Set, set value '3' and save). After this is done, please re-test connection for the affected RFC destination in tx. SM59, reduce ICM trace level back to the original value in tx. SMICM and provide us a detailed ICM trace extract (retrieving ICM trace file via tx. SMICM). From extra details, it will be possible to get more insight on the cause of the problem.

Hi Sri,

You could alo check if your ports/services (HTTP/HTTPs) are active on PI. TCode SMICM --> Goto --> Services.

Hello Sri,

Please ensure that the PI system is up and running. Normally ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED error is returned when target of the RFC destination is not reachable. Here, target is ICM (precisely, ICF service) of the ABAP stack of PI, so health of ABAP stack of the called PI system in general and state of the called ICF service (most likely it is /sap/xi/engine since the application system calls PI Integration Server) in particular should be verified.

Hi Sri,

The connections are not reachable from SAP to PI. Please check with Basis team whether SM59 connections are showing success or not.

Also check check the hostname and proxy is entered in SMICM transaction of SAP or not.

Also create RFC dest to PI in ECC (sm59) - type - H - with URL - /sap/xi/engine/?type=entry

and use it in SXMB_ADM - IE config and check.

Hi Nabendu,

I have checked all the above except  SMICM.

Can you tell me how to check the hostname and proxy  in SMICM transaction??

Sri
