Age calculation at Bex

Hello Experts,

For model number char info object, i have launching month(ex:200507) object as attribute and it is set to Navigational.

My question is i would like to calculate the age ( system month - launching month)at reporting .

PLease suggest me the best feasible way to achieve this. it would be better if i can navigate on "age"..

Try using a formula variable . This should be possible.

Alternately, if you have trouble calculating based on the month infoobject, you may consider using a customer exit in the variable processing.

There is a how to paper: How to calculate with attributes? You can use the instructions in this paper to make a key figures from you navigational attribute. This key figure you can use to calculate. Off course you end up on a key figure for which no navigation is possible. The only other way is with update rules, but than your age will not change over time unless you reload in full.
