SAP NW 7.03 Trial Version on windows 7: how to display db into maxdb database studio

Former Member

Hi all,

I have just completed my SAP NETWEAVER 7.03 trial version on my windows 7 laptop and I can login to the system.

Then I installed Database Studio to manage my database NSP after a SGEN (=>DB Logs full).

Now, I would like to work on my db (backup and logs archiving as it was so easy to do with database manager)

Then, after click on : Window => Show view => Databases, I obtain this error message:

Could not create the view:

com/sap/sdb/tools/ui/actionbarcontributors/ConnectedUserStatusLineContributionItem....

(more info into attached file)

All menu options lead me to quite the same option: "grey screen" or "Could not create the view".

Thanks for your help

Jacques

Try the following:

under C:\users\<Username>\sdb\ rename the folder DatabaseStudio (this will clear the cache)

in C:\users\<Username>\.sdb\<Hostname>\<Username>\ delete the jdbctrace.shm

in C:\users\<Username>\.eclipse\org.eclipse.equinox.security\ delete the file in there (this will reset the password)

it helped in my case.

Hi Jacques,

Here is the downloads page:

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/maxdb-downloads

This doc shows you how to add db.

http://maxdb.sap.com/training/administration_7.6/MaxDB-Admin-DBStudio-LCM263.pdf

The errors in your doc does not help not descriptive at all.

Hope this helps.

Hi Johan,

I had the same error. Your answer won't help him. He needs to delete several Files from the user directory (see my post). there seems to be problem with caching that is not easily reproducable (could happen when netbeans is installed or when JAVA is updated).
