hierarchy reload

Hi experts,

I need to check with you, what happens when I reload my particular hierarchy using full load? There won't be duplicates for hierarchies, is my understanding correct?

What happens if the structure is the same but I changed the node id of some of the entries in the flat file?

What happens if the node id are changed to new numbers?

Does it mean another subnode is created and the existing nodes remain?

Does full upload (whole tree) means overwrite existing right from the root node?

Does full upload of whole tree again, same data, mean no additional records created in hierarchy table?

Awaiting for your replies. Thanks!

Mirella

    Mirella,

    The complete hierarchy is re-created.

    Cheers

The complete hierarchy is actually not recreated.

The "text version" of the hierarchy is deleted and reloaded "H" table. The hierarchy "I" table will continue to grow as SAP wants to keep track of internal hierarchy versions. As this "I" table grows it will become a performance problem since this real table SAP uses for your query .

Before activating a "reloaded" hierearchy which has a "M" status you must first delete the current "active" version.

Let me know if you need more help

      Thanks

      Richard
