Variable Entry Screen not appearing in BEx Web Analyzer

When I publish a query to the portal, I change the parameters to make sure the variable entry screen appears when the query is opened. This part is working correctly.

However, when I run that query in the portal, and then save it in the BEx Portfolio, and then someone else opens the query, the query immediately executes without opening the Variable Entry Screen.

I would like to make sure that queries are ALWAYS opened with the Variable Entry Screen, never immediately executed when called.

How can I force the Variable Entry Screen to always appear?

I am using a copy of 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN, and I applied the changes suggested in http://scn.sap.com/thread/1630178, but the Variable Entry Screen still isn't appearing in some situations.
