Database Backup

We are running XI 3.0 on Oracle (9.2) and Mircosoft Cluster Service. We are trying to decide and define our back up strategy...

I have been asked by my Technical Operations team about the data stored in the database....

Hopefully this is a simple question..... But does the SLD and Central Data Repository data all get stored in the database?
