If an employee has claimed exempt from federal withholding, they cannot change their W-4 to non exempt in ESS. webdynpro hress_A_W4 We can make the change in the back end, but an employee may not make this specific change in the portal.

We had the same problem after a UI upgrade and SAP note 2360194 - ESS W4 - Exemption dropdown reset.
