Preconfigured best practices dashboard /reports based on SAP ERP in BI/O 4.0

Hi BO Gurus,

Does  anyone has installed preconfigured dashboard/reports delivered by SAP in SAP BI 4.0 (for ERP as well as BW)

My queries on this topic are:

1.     What is the version / SP/ FP  required to get these preconfigured dashboard / reports irrespective of domains/industry?

2.     From where I can access them in Bi 4.0?

3.     What is the procedure to install these dashboard/ reports? Is it similar to "BI Content" in SAP BI Netweaver ? Do we need to follow similar procedure (collecting objects, install them and transport them)?

I will appreciate any kind of guidance related to this topic.

Hi Everybody,

Did you get to implement the SAP Best Practices for BI.

I would like to know more information about how the integration of all parts works. Right now I found some documentation and have a part of the package with preconfigured Dashboards and Crystal reports, scenarios guides and a quick guide for implementation but the last one I jsut founded on the web but is not the one for the country I need as the note you published here was deleted and so on.

I have the following steps to follow and I need to complete them:

• Set all the Master data from ECC, Business Conditions and preliminaries on the ERP side
• Configurations from the Quick guide - This need some Add On´s
• Configuration for reports on CMC

But at the end does this all connect just by having the Add On´s`? it´s like it shoul but there is always something to configure from every side: ERP - CMC- Dasboard

Could you please help me with your experience

Hello,

I'm trying to find Note 1618497 (SAP Best Practices for Business Intelligence V1.40) and it's related content but it's nowhere to be found. I think it might be discontinued or something but it still should be around somewhere.

Has any of you implemented this best practice?.

Hi Tammy Greeting to you,

I am working on SAP ECC best practices for  EHP4 vertion. I am facing problem with some of the crystal reports are giving performance problem like open project dashboard of crystal reports which is devoloped on the ZBPBI131_INFO_PROJ_SUM_2 infoset.

I follow the steps setdatasource location then selecting the SAP Infoset server click the update button then it is updating and status shows Accessdatabase after a long time time out error.

The same reports is worked in devolopment server now i am updating the Qlity server.

So how to resolve this performance........

Hello - I haven't set up the preconfigured reports

I wasn't aware they would work in ehp4, only ehp5

Perhaps open a ticket with SAP support?

Are you talking about preconfigured SAP delivery crystal report ? Can u tell me how to access those reports from Crystal reports.

we are on SAP BOBJ  4.0 / BI 7.3 /ECC 6

Do we need to create a connection from crystal report for enterprise to see these preconfigured reports ? what is the excat location ?

HI Parul,

First get the details of your ERP system what vertion they are installed like EHP4 or EHP5 based on the vertion there is medianumbers (Ex:  50103841 this is for EHP4) download the doc from service portsl ( this will done by basis ) its a ZIP file extract it you can fine the source file and First follow the this

SAP Note 1618497

Once you down load just study doc. You will understand what and how...

Thank you very much for suggesting this SAP Note to me.

I am following it  and created  users, roles, structure , infoset , usergroup , assigned user to user groups in ECC . I had placed required ECC Transports too in ECC (ECC 6 EHP 5)system.

Now in quick guide "souce file" has been mentioned (sectin 4.3.2). In our installation dvd these files are missing. I had requested SAP for the same and awaiting for the reply 

After creating above objects too entire work flow is not clear .

Does these files are the preconfigured dashboards and reports deleivered by SAP for ECC ?

Similar sample souce file will be applicable for BW too ?

(In BW : User, role , IMG settings , some settings in CMC )
