ALE and Proxy Settings

Dear All,

I have 2 general query.

1.Does it make any production issue if both the ALE as well as Proxy settings are maintained in the ECC system with SAP PI ?

2.In the initial phase by mistake the naming convention was not maintained properly i.e. == CLNT100 == in Development, QUALITY and Production ECC when there was no SAP-XI.

Now this is creating the concern and I changed it to DXBCLNT100, QXBCLNT100 as per standard SAP naming convention but still the production logical              system name is CLNT100. Is this going to have any impact if I let it same as CLNT100 during the run time XML flow from end-to-end  ( ECC-PI-3rd Party)

as this ECC is connected to BW system also.

Thanks!

Alice

Hi Alice,

Personaly I don't see any production issue with your question 1. What will be used (ALE or Proxy) will be determined by what you configure to be used - they should co-exist peacefully.

Although I can't see any obvious impact on point 2 (apart from tracing headaches) - I would personally hesitate with leaving it unchanged. But I can also appreciate the headache that will come by changing it - I guess I have no good avice to give on this one

Regards, Trevor

1. it is frequent scenario to have ALE and proxy setting - so no issues.. I have also done many times

2. for naming it will not create any issue to use as it is if you want to save the efforts ....
