Best practices to re-assemble the required files after fully downloading the installation media

Dears,

We are about to install SAP NetWeaver BW 7.3 (EhP1) on IBM Power System i - OS : IBM i (V7R1M0) - DB : IBM DB2 for i

Could someone please guide to the best practices / steps to follow to re-assemble the required files, after fully downloading the installation media from sap service marketplace, before starting the copy phase onto the installation server (IBM Power System i) ?

The files to be downloaded have the extensions : .rar , .zip and .exe

The two relevant SAP notes : 1258173 and 886535 are rather ambiguous :

Note : 1258173 deals with the .zip files : what I understood is that any Windows-based utility would do the job.

Note : 886535 deals with the .rar and .exe files : what I understood is that the unpacking for a Windows - based platform is simply done by double clicking (executing) the .exe file.

Also, another point please :

The following is an excerpt from the manual :

Installation Guide - SAP Systems Based on the Application Server ABAP of SAP NetWeaver on IBM i : IBM DB2 for i

Using Software Provisioning Manager 1.0

Document version : 2.00 - 2012-08-28

p. 71 :

NOTE
For advanced users only: Instead of copying the complete media you also can copy only dedicated subdirectories. For IBM i the following directories have to be copied:

- IM_OS400_PPC64

- K_<version>_<U or N>_OS400_PPC64

- EXP*

- JAVA*

- SL_CONTROLLER*

Is there a way to map the different files to be downloaded to the final directories onto which the media content is to be copied ?

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Regards.
