BO4 - One-way federation - remote connection on source system

I am reading admin manula with regards federation.

We want to set up one-way replication job to refresh daily content of folder from prod system to qa system

Understand bit about creating replication list and reoplication job.

Not sure about remote connection.

Would expect have to create remote connection on source system (prod) which points to destination system (qaTalsk about creating remote connection on destination site.

page 715 says when creating federation job create remote connection on destination site - does this only apply to 2-way repliaction.

Assume not relevant to one way replication - all the stuff (list, job and remote connection should eb on source system.

As far as I aware, the federation is used when you have two systems where the business function is same.. But not for DEV -> QA --> PROD.. Thats not a best practice..

Promotion Management is the option, we can use for the change management (transports) to manage the QA to PROD promotions..

    I hope this helps

    • Thanks for update.

Only problem is promotion manager doesn't seem to be dynamic.

Wwas suggested to us federation might be but having tested that it isn't either.

Here is problem I have with both promotion management and federation.

Once set up job, the content of that job is static.

e.g day1 folder has 10 reports, set up promotion manager job on schedule to repliacte this content.

day 2 4 new reports in folder - these new 4 reports don't get replicated automatically.

What would like is similar functionlaity to standard unix/windows copy/cp folder/*

such that could keep a andpit server refreshed with conent of a folder dynamically.

      Is this possible?

Doesn't seem to be with promotion manager?
