what is TREX use for in SRM

can anyone let me know what is TREX use for in SRM, do we need to install?

and is this in separate server?

Hi Mandy,

TREX search engine will be helpful for full text search in SRM  Contract management such as internal notes and attachments on header and item level.

Its a separate server

Earlier it was used in CCM as a search tool .

Hi,

Generally, TREX is not necessary for SRM, it is only needed for CCM catalog and features like advanced search. Please have a look into existing threads like:
