Hi,
Implementing SAP B1 8.82 PL06.
The requirement is to have all JE NUMBERS start with the number of the month e.g. 09 for September and so on (on the screen document itself and not only in printing).
I know that possible solutions could be:
1. To have a 6-digit number with the first number as 090001 and limit that series of JEs to Period Indicator of September 2012 say. Downside: However, this will add 12 series every year and over the years, it will become cumbersome. Also, one could use this only for 9999 JEs after which the JE will be numbered as 100000.
2. To have a prefix "09" for all Septembers every year and have a period indicator of 09 for September of all years. Downside: However, the 09 will not appear in the actual document on the screen (which is what is required) but will appear only on the printing.
3. To have serial numbers for all period indicators of "09" start with number "09" followed by 17 zeros with the 20th digit as 1 (since the numbering field is 20 digits long). Downside: The 20-digit number appearing in all print-outs is clunky.
It would be neat to be able to have some auto-numbering FMS which will simply keep "09" constant every year in September (on the JE screen document itself) followed by the next running number of the JE.
Is there any way this requirement could be met?
Thanks,
