Creating new source systems on BW for multiple client ECC

Hello Gurus,

We have one ECC with two clients as ECC100 and ECC200.

Is it possible to create two source system on BW for each of these clients?

On SM59 screen, it is possible to create connection for these two clients. But I'm a little suspicious if it is working good after creating source systems, and datasources.

Hi ,

We can have two source system in BW. And it is possible to create the connection . It would be better if you interact with your basis team to help you out in the connection. Most of the time BW consultant's wont be having authorization to create connection .

So you say that it works.

After that, in BW I'll have two datasources for example:

2lis_11_vaitm (ECCCLNT100)

2lis_11_vaitm (ECCCLNT200)

Hi,

  Yes what u said is correct. But why u want to create two source system for different clients in the same ECC system. Usually one will be the dev client and one will be the data client in ECC  and u will connect BW to the client which has data. Unless it is mandatory to create a separate source system for the new client i would try to avoid this.
