Error in Update Local DVM Content

Hello,

I am facing error while setting up Data Volume Management in our new SOLMAN 7.1

In SOLMAN_SETUP under "Data Volume Management"-->Step 5, I am getting error in task " Update local DVM Content". The error is as Below:

Configuration for LA1~040 not performed 

Lock entry _CMTD exists for coding part U02 of project CMC .

Subroutine CMC_RFC_INTERFACE not found/not executable.

I am doing this DVM setup for LA1 . Its configuration is done .The above error is there in Workcenter also under " Data Volume Management"-->"Analyses"

Kindly help on this

Hi,

For the following message:

Subroutine CMC_RFC_INTERFACE not found/not executable
Lock Entry ......of project CMC etc.

This should be something wrong with the installation for component
ST-A/PI. As ST-A/PI 01 N SP1 is already available, could you please
install ST-A/PI 01N SP1 in system and install the DVM central note 1646195.
After that please also check the status of note 1648704.

Could you also check if note 1703216 working for you?

Thanks for your suggestion.

I tried to run the rtcctool in the managed system and ran "Addons and Upgrade" button .

After this when i again go to solman_setup -->Data Volume Manag.-->Technical preparation and execute step "Update local DVM Content" the error is different now:

Configuration for LA1~040 not performed

Update of the DVM local content is not performed (please check the data-load procedure).

In RTCCTOOL in managed system it asks to update lot of things like , ST-P1, ST-AP1 , SAP Note 1611204   for DVM (See Below)

1. [Note 69455  ]    Addon ST-A/PI 01P_700
Description     "Servicetools for Applications Plug-In" for NetWeaver 04s/ Basis 7.0x
Implementation  From http://service.sap.com/supporttools->ST-A/PI download the
                installation ST-A/PI 01P_700.
                Upload to tx SAINT and install as per note 69455  .
                Then restart report RTCCTOOL and choose 'List->Refresh from SAPNet'.

3. [Note 69455  ]    Switch on digital content verification
Description     Switch on Digital content verification for recommendations of
                SAP Service prep. check (RTCCTOOL) or Security Notes Check (RSECNOTE)
Implementation  From the menu choose "Goto->Digital signatures" and press "Activate".

5. [Note 539977  ]   ST-PI Support Packages
Description     Addon supportpackage level 7 for ST-PI 2008_1_700 for 7.00
                 [patches up to level 7 for Basis tools for services]
Implementation  Open http://service.sap.com/supporttools-> ST-PI 2008_1_700 ->Supportpk.
                Add patch SAPKITLRD7 (and predecessors if not yet implemented) to download

                       basket. For basis >= 700 release basket via Maintenance optimizer. Upload
                       from frontend into transaction SPAM, define a queue and import the queue.

       6. [Note 12103  ]    Collectors and TCOLL
       Description     Planning table TCOLL for SAP workload collectors for 700 (note 966309  )
       Implementation  Press the lights icon to get the detailed check log.
                       Add missing entries to table TCOLL using ST03N > Expert Mode > Collector
                       and Performance DB > Performance Monitor Collector > Execution Times.
                       Schedule RSCOLL00 as an hourly batch job if not scheduled.

       8. SAP Note 1644660    for UA/STA/TEA/CCMC
       Description     Corrections for Custom Code (ST-PI 2008.1 SP5)             [managed system]
       Implementation  Please implement coding correction from note 1644660   using SNOTE in the
                       managed systems (DEV, QAS, PRD).

       9. SAP Note 1563060   for ST-A/PI 01N*
       Description     Data Collectors corrections ST-A/PI 01N* SP0               [managed system]
       Implementation  Please implement coding correction from note 1563060   using SNOTE.
                       Please perform the manual activities as mentioned in the SAP Note before
                       implementing the attached coding corrections.

       10. SAP Note 1611204   for DVM
       Description     Application specific analysis for DVM:                     [managed system]
                       Bugfixing & Performance Tuning
       Implementation  Please implement coding correction from note 1611204   using SNOTE.
                       Please perform the manual activities as mentioned in the SAP Note before
                       implementing the attached coding corrections.

Can you please advise on the same.

Hi,

The SAP notes 1648704 and 1563060 are required to be implemented in both:

SAP Solution Manager and every managed system.

Also, there are manual steps in both notes.

Are these notes applied correctly?

Hi Adian,

As i checked the inplementation status in snote transaction,  the above two notes cannot be implemented in solman . However in managed system it can be.

If i apply ST-API on the managed system and apply the note 1611204 as per RTCCTOOL.

Also along with that if i apply 1648704 in the managed system.. will these things help.?

For the reported error:

Configuration for LA1~040 not performed

Update of the DVM local content is not performed (please check the data-load procedure).

SAP Note 1648704 is important and may help explain why error occurs.

The steps mentioned above should help also.

Hi Adian,

After installing the add-on ST-A/PI the previous error "Update of the DVM local content is not performed (please check the data-load procedure." is not coming now . However a disfferent error is coming now  under solman_setup -->Data Volume Manag.-->Technical preparation and execute step "Update local DVM Content" :

Configuration for LA1~040 not performed   

RFC System Failure / Screen output without connection to user.

The " check note " tab is green in the same section though.

Also fyi: in my Dev system after installing the add-on the ""Update local DVM Content"" was green but as i specified above in production its not the same case after installing add-on

Please suggest.

Hi,

Please check if all the required roles and authorizations are assigned.
Check the SAP Note 1572183.

Also please check wiki at the following address.

Hi Adian,

I checked the Note 1572813 .. I see the roles exist in system and are assigned to users SM_SP1 , SMTMSP1  except   role Z_SOLMAN_READ_70_ADD. Is this role necessarily to be given to SM_SP1 , SMTMSP1 users in the managed system for DVM to work.?

I have a query . How is this linked to DVM?

Please let me know how can i check the impact of ST-PI Patch level upgrade on BI and PI system.
