Receipt on Friday for weekend's forecast

Former Member

Hi,

Our forecast in demand planning is on all 7 days of a week. Shipping calendar at Location level is open for all 7 days

so we can see the forecast in SNP for 7 days.

Receiving calendar is open for only 5 days (closed on Saturday and Sunday)

When we run SNP heuristics, with daily lot size system creates receipt on each day to fulfill demand except for Saturday and Sunday’s demand.

As receiving calendar is closed on Sat/Sun, system shows shortages on these 2 days and creates a combine receipt on Monday (for Sat, Sun and Monday demand). Business requirement is system should pull the demand in and create the receipt on Friday (for Sat and Sun forecast) instead of Monday.

They don’t want to open receiving calendar for weekend.

Please suggest if you have similar scenario or came across such requirement.

Thanks

Yogesh

Hello Yogesh,

We have a couple of customers who asked about this, and have the same requirements.

In SAP standard, the behavior you encountered is as per design, so you can only acheive your expectation my system modification.

The main logic of releasing from dp to snp is performed in routine adapt_data_to_timestream in program /SAPAPO/SAPLMSDP_RELEASE. Here methods of BADI /sapapo/sdp_reldata is called. The sequence of calling is:

PERFORM exit_change_calendar

PERFORM exit_change_reldata

Maybe you can consider making use of them to changed the released data.

Best Regards,

Hi Ada,

Thanks for your reply!

Actually we proposed this option to customer (adjust Saturday and Sunday’s forecast in Friday' bucket) but customer is asking that demand should remain on Sat/Sunday.

If receiving calendar is not open on those days then system should plan the supply on Friday instead on Monday for those weekend demand.

Let me know if any solution for this requirement.

Thanks

Yogesh
