process chain - failed process - no/delayed mail

Hi,

I have a question concerning the automatic mailing function in a bw process chain:

We are running process chains every night loading data from SAP.

There are several chains connected and started via Meta-Chains.

Every application process is set to send a message via mail when it fails.

The problem is, that a failed process (in this case an Infopackage, because the source system was not up)

does not send a message the moment it fails.

But when the process is started the next day (chain scheduled to run periodically), the failed process from the day before ends and a message is sent

by mail.

additional info:

- In the Infopackage, the time-out is set to 7 hours

- in the detailed monitor (for the request) the runtime is displayed as expected (7h and a few minutes)

- in the process chain protocol the runtime of the process (detail) the runtime is 1 day (and a few minutes)

Any help or ideas would be appreciated,

thanks

Daniel
