BI Backup Server

Hi Community! How's it going?

I have successfully installed my SAP BI 4 Environment, ^^u, I have all installation in a single Windows Server + Sql Server, etc.. but now I'm interested to have a copy of my BI server, It would be better a hot copy, in a different geographical location so normally How do you make?.

I mean, Do you prefer mount a cluster of BI servers? or Do you prefer to have a file-syncronization service between two servers?

Regards.

Alvaro.

    Hi Alvaro,

If you would like to have a clone of your BI server you must have a consistent Backup of your CMS Database. Then you can install with BO Installer and reuse the database.

Be aware to copy Filestore files and Server configuration files :

    1. setup your new BOE Server

    2. Copy thr FRS from the old to the new BOE Server

    3. Copy the CMS DB using cmsdbsetup.sh (UNIX) or the CCM from the old DB to the new DB

    4. Run the "Update Objects" option

    5. Login to the CMC of the new BOE to delete the old Server entries under "Server"

    Cheers
