ALE (HRMD_A): Change for person x extends too far into past

Hi,

We have a global HCM system for master data, and payroll is run on regional HCM systems. Most master data is maintained on the global system, and then HRMD_A ALE is used to distribute those changes to the regional system. No ALE is going from regional to global.

The problem we have is the following:

A user makes a change to an employee or the org structure on the global system. The system does not give any errors about validity dates or anything. After saving, the ALE is triggered, but when it arrives at the regional system, the IDoc fails with the error "Change for person xxxxxxxx extends too far into past" (message 5A 189). I have tried to investigate but have not found any good reason for this message. It seems to be related to changes in org relationsips A003 and A012. Please let me know if you have any ideas to help with this?

I can't find any configuration differences between the two systems, so in my mind the regional systems should have the same validations as the global system. Unless of course there is some configuration which I am missing somewhere..?

Thanks
