Handling with standard Function Modules- HANA

Hi Experts,

One of our custom reports is taking too much of time to run, when we had analyzed it was found that the delay is because of the queries on tables with huge data.

We decided to make use of HANA as our secondary database by replicating a few (tables with more data and more columns) required tables to the HANA database. We need expert's advise on the below aspects.

1. What if one of the standard/custom function modules execution time is more. Do you see the real necessity of analyzing the standard/custom function modules to move the required tables to HANA? If yes, the analysis time is more coz we need to crack SAP code.

2. We are not interested in moving all the tables to HANA as some of them are small tables. In this case, how the handshake gonna happen as some of the result set will be retrieved in secondary database(HANA) and other in Primary database? Do you see any negative impact with this approach?
