Does a Realtime Cube has any size limitations, or are there any guidelines to not go beyond a certain limit to avoid performance loss?
Since this is a question about BW, it belongs in the BW space (called SAP Netweaver Business Warehouse) and not the Data Warehousing space. I've moved the thread, but please use this space for these types of questions in the future.

actually real time cube would be a virtual cube which actualy doesnt hold any data, the best way to get to a scenario, you create 2 different cubes and 2 different datasources, one for historicla and one real time, the real time only keeps small amount on data and you cannot manage on it to see the data as it doesnt actually holds any data, the historical is the one you load daily, create amultiprovider on them for your report.
