ESR - unable to import design objects

Former Member

Dear,

When we want to import, from a local pc (client), design objects into the ESR, we face an error:

You are not allowed to manipulate /sapmnt/<SAPSID>/global/xi/repository_server/import/<FILENAME>tpz.86676a14-2e39-11e2-cc8a-00ff80601988 file.

See error logs for details

Our system is a SAP PI 7.3 SPS05.

Authorizations are set on SWCV level and namespace level.

Also, on the operating system level, all authorizations seems to be correct.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

Hello Dimitri,

The fix for this has now been officially released. It is documented note 1796134 Import of PI objects from client not working.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the sap note.

As per the note do we need to apply all the patches as mentioned in the sap note?

Thanks,

Gaurav

Hello Gaurav,

All patches, relevant to your SP release need to be applied to resolve this particular issue.

I would recommend that you apply the latest patches for all the XI components, for your current SP release. This will ensure you avoid any possible dependency issues. See note #1335523 FAQ: Deployment PI Patches in Release 7.1 and higher, for more details.

Regards

Mark

Hello,

Please check note #1794961 You are not allowed to manipulate file error importing PI tpz. This offers a workaround for this error and provides some background on the cause. Note #1785554 does not fix all cases of the error.

SAP are in the process of creating a new fix for this error and this will probably take 2 weeks before it is officially released.

Hello everybody,

we are facing the same problem like Dimitri. The note #1785554 has already been released. It says, if the error-message refers to note #1682620 you should apply the patch and if not, you have to check the repository properties.  We have already checked the properties and authorizations (including "upload_action") but couldn't solve the problem yet. Does anybody have some more ideas?

Hello Dimitri.

Thank you for your reply! Im looking forward to your feedback. I just checked our system state. We are on SP 4, PL 19 at the moment and we won't deploy SP5, we are waiting for SP6.

Hello Thomas,

In the meantime, we decided to wait for the solution mentioned in OSS note 1794961.

We will not use a workaround, but immediately go for the permanent solution.

Kind regards,

Dimitri

Hi Sannen,

Please check if you have been provided with the right permissions to that perticular user.

Hi Naveen,

The correct roles have been granted to the user.

Both SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR and SAP_XI_CONTENT_ORGANIZER were added to the user on the ABAP stack.

Kind regards,

Dimitri

Hi Dimitri,

If you are trying to import the file from your local mechine to your PI server , check if you are able to ping your local server from your PI Server.

Hi Naveen,

On the current system, I cannot ping my laptop. The same as on the new system were the problem resides.

So I guess this has nothing to do with the import problem I'm facing.

Kind regards,

Dimitri

It's really strange that it does an app server directory lookup when you have clearly specified client for import Dimitri.

Sounds like a bug to me. Maybe have a look at SAP Note 1785554 & see if it helps.

Hi trevor,

Indeed, and to me it also sounds like a bug.

I checked the OSS note ans granted the authorization to my user. But this did not solve the problem.

Also, I guess patching will not solve the problem either.

Kind regards,

Dimitri
