Reorder point plus MPS

MAIN QUESTION: Can we use reorder point (CBP, Consumption Based Planning) with MRP Type=VB or V1 and still plan a Finished Good item in the MPS?

The objective is to run the MPS once a month with Planned Independent Requerimens (PIRs) input from MD61 to generate dependant requeriments that can be planned with the MRP.

I understand that once we change the MRP type from M01, M02, ... to VB (or V1), the MPS won't consider the items for planning, is this the case? I have search through different forums and I've found two different answer. I need to confirm this one way or another.

See this post for an example of "you can do it": http://scn.sap.com/message/10463923

Today, the planning is done like this:

[Once a month]

1 - "Upload" planned independent requirements for Finished Goods (MD61)

2 - Run the MPS (MD40)

3 - Review scheduled quantities (repetitives, MF50)

4 - Run MRP for raw material (MD01)

The requirements is:

[Once a month]

1 - "Upload" planned independent requirements for Finished Goods with MRP Type="VB" (MD61)

2 - Run the MPS (MD40)

3 - Review scheduled quantities (repetitives, MF50)

4 - Run MRP for raw material (MD01)

[Daily]

1 - Run MRP for Finished Goods with MRP Type="VB" or "V1"

2 - Review results with MD04 or MD07

3 - If needed, review new scheduled quantities (repetitives, MF50)

If we cannot run the MPS for Finished Goods with MRP Type as "VB", is it possible to plan the storage location stocks separately ("2" in SLoc MRP indicator in MRP 4 view) and still run the MPS for the same items in a monthly basis? Would the MPS take into account the stock in the locations being planned separately?
