BPC 10 Keep Formulas but sending data

Hi experts:

We are creating a planning layout in BPC 10. We choose the option "Keep formulas" and the layout keep the formulas but it doesn't send data. We have the following example.

      Cost Center              01.2012              02.2012                  003.2012              Q1.2012 (Read Only)

           A                      = (Q1.2012/3)     = (Q1.2012/3)        = (Q1.2012/3)

We I put data in Q1.2012 the system divides the amount and inform data in the monthly basis according to the formula. This is just what we need to do but we need month data being sent to the system. is it possible to keep the formula and send the data.

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi Manuel,

Normally, there is no problem in Keep Formulas and Send Data.

What could happen is the log brings error on node member.

ie. Taking your case, the log message will brings: 3 succeed and 1 error (The quarter member).

Please, make sure that the report in question is set as Input Form (In case there are more than one, the only way the button Save Data be available), and the month members are unlocked.

Also, make a test by inserting a number in place of formula and click on send data.

In 7.5 version, we used the following document to insert values at Node Level, but I'm not sure if is working in BPC 10.

Hi Lucas:

Thanks a lot for your help.

I will try what you recommend. Just a further issue.

Is that badi also for not entity dimensions?

Another doubt I have is if it wil work in BPC 10,

In the example I explained, the result is not 3 succeed as you said. The log message brought 1 succeed (the first member is not a formula) and no errors. The quarter member is flagged as "read only" and the system don't issue an error. Month members area unlocked and january is sent because it doesn't contain a formula. However, February and March don't have error but data are not sent. I think the system is considering the formula as read only.

I suppose there must be a way to send the formula. I know it was possible in 7.5 without problems but so far I didn't find it in BPC 10. Input schedules have changed quite a lot. Some better things but I guess we will have some worst things as well.

Thanks again

Hi JosManuel, you're welcome.

I thing that the Badi could be cutomized as you need, but this customization has to be done in ABAP code. In version 10, there is some changes from that HTG...however I can't guide you...

About the issue, it's really a strange behavior...The formula exist in the Input Form, but the database sees just the value, the number.

All I can do, is to give a kick about the problem.

If I were you, certainly would start by Format Number applied in the cell, Dynamic Formatting...Report options...

Sorry don't help you more.

Regards,

Lucas
