Crystal reports 2011 integration with SAP ECC

Hi Friends,

As I need to generate few reports from ECC (SAP) through  CRYSTAL Report 2011 and need to know the integration process.

1. I referred the document and I understand that I need to install Crystal report 2011 at server side and are required to upload transport files in ECC

    as a part of integration

2. and also need to know what I have to do at Client side.(do I have to install any front end client system)

2. Would like to know How it will bring the data from ECC only by uploading the transport files? or do I need to do some other workaround.

3.if I have to do any workaround please suggest the steps.

4.And how the user management will work in Crystal report (Means the user/Group/Authorization)

5.And if I want to generate the reports in CRYSTAL REPORTS 2011 and want to publish in BO XI 3.1 Platform is it possible ?

Please suggest as early as possible

Reporting  : BOXI 3.1 SP5 +Webi

HI,

-->  When you install Crystal reports 2011, Integration transports are installed by default.

--> Install Crystal reports 2011 as client tool. Here is the product release. Look for SAP Toolbar and there are ADAPT numbers that supports the fix, if you come accross any issues while installing.

--> You should see Driver list(SAP BW MDX.SAP Infosets,SAP Operational Dta Store, SAP Tables,clusters or Function) when you select Database>> Database Expert>> Create New connection >>SAP Tables,clusters or function(to connect to ECC tables) >> log into available systems>> select the table.

3.if I have to do any workaround please suggest the steps.

--> If you face any error during this poricess, post back pls. depending on it someone might help you on the issue.

4.And how the user management will work in Crystal report (Means the user/Group/Authorization).

--> Save the Crystal reports into folders using your BOE authentication. Authorization will depend on the the roles/access level to the user on the folders and reports.

--> Yes you can except the export ffeatures that are available in BO 4.0, I didn;t face any issue but do check the comaptibility before going forward. Here is the link:

Thanks for your valuable effort.

I referred the document and installed Crystal report 2011 in one system

As a part of integration with SAP ECC 6.0 . I did install and imported Transported files which I get from crystal reports Dump  and imported (Cofiles & Data files) in SAP ECC System

when I tried to log in  Crystal report 2011 when I opened dataexplorer for data connectivity

I Found the options to extract data from Infoset,Tables and others..............unable to get any chance of integrating or configuration with ECC

When I expand the Data explorer in crystal report 2011.  It shows a blank box headed with available system (but i couldnt get the system details) where no system name was mentioned.and it was in disable mode.

So I need your help regarding this ( If I get the system details there in Data Explorer I can login easily and bring back the data)

But unable to get the system details nor I am getting opportunity to configure the system details.

Hence could you explain me where I am lacking behind ?

Or do I have to make any other things (Apart from importing transport files in ECC systems as I already did)

Hi,

There are series of steps that need to follow for the installation of Suite.

Can you reinstall SAP Gui.ini? and then launch CR 2011. you should now see the systems available for you.
