After switching source system in BW DEV Do we apply anything in testing/production

Hello Gurus,

After switching source system A to source system B in BW DEV  Do we need to do anything in testing or in production ? like transport connection to sync the new  source systems to the one in testing or in production? Any ideas? I hope this is the right forum for this question.

Thank you for replying  Suyash, They have not done the connect system b with source system in quality and production  they are not sure what needs to be done after Conversion of source system to a new system in BW DEV. That is why i am asking. If you can give me more information or a document on steps on what to after I have converted source system A to B and how i did that was TC BDLS entered Old and new logical system next step is TC SCC4 to change cross client Object if need be Next step TC SE38 and select function module

RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT to

delete the entries needed for the source system change in the table RSBASIDOC in both BW and ECC.

Next step in the BW environment go to RSA1 to restore the connection for Source system B Then

do the check and use connections and everything was fine with the changes and replicate Now my question is if you can give a document on a step by step on what next to do in other not to get an error in TESTING and PRODUCTION. Hope this helps get me more information.

When you say :

You dont have to do any steps in BW quality and production if the source system they are connected to earlier hasnt changed.

The only change you need is the source system conversion in RSA1

Tools---... conversion of logical system names

Maintain the right conversion for B now which was for A earlier in both the systems

Pls be elaborate in your questions it helps identifying your problem.

As far as I understand yes you need to maintain source system mapping in quality in BW for the new source system B.

As system wont know and throw a error while the source system conversion of objects will take place in quality BW.

Also basis has to connect the system B with the source system in quality and production and I am sure that must have already been done.

Double check!
