Period Selection by User

Hi, All

We have SEM3.5 and I am new to BPS.

I have created a Cost-Center Planning Application. Can the user select the fiscal period for which he is doing the planning?. if so how to configure this?.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks

Velu

Hello Velu. Yes this can be done with variable for the fiscal period.

    Good luck.

    Hi, Frank

    Thanks for yr suggestion.

I have created a variable and I am getting the drop-down box for selection of the periods. But this works , if I place the Fiscal Year/Period as a lead column. If I place this in the Header, then the Layout is not getting displayed and I get the error Message "Header Characteristics should be restricted to single values".

Do I need to create packages for each month to do the monthly planning or am I missing some thing simple?.

Any help is very much appreciated.

    Regards

    Velu

      Hello Velu,

Multiple header combinations are not supported on the web. It will work fine if you are working on Excel.

To achieve this on the web, put a drop down for the variable in the web layout. User then selects from the drop down (or radio button or whaterever else) to restrict the Fiscal Year/Period to a single value and this then determines the manual planning.

      Cheers
