Hi,

We have few requirements and I am seeking some idea to meet those.

  • we have fields scattered through different tabs and views at port. item side. we have hidden lots of fields already. What if we want to consolidate field in 2-3 views. e.g we want to have additional info fields in general information view.

  • in Project management what if we want to have custom fields in basic data tab or additional data tab. I know we can custom tab created for custom fields.. any suggestion how to get custom fields in std system tabs.

  • in navigation bar, we can checklist item menu through which we can see checklist dashboard. We have requirement where we want to create menu as checklist 1 & checklist 2 as per the checklist type. System should should only show related type checklists in particular menu.

Please provide me your suggestions / hint to meet above requirements.

Hi Pramod,

1) you can only configure custom fields then you can modify the webdynpro component or create a custom field with the same logic as the standard.

2) i have a custom field in a standard tab.. But really i have no idea how it is developed, let me know if you are very interested to investigate it.

3) i don't know how to achieve this, you can create 2  entries in the menu ( checklist 1 and checklist 2) for this you can do it in the role.. But both of them would call to the same dashboard.. You can create 2 views ( for each type of checklist) and develop that depeding on it is called with checklist 1 or 2... Use a view or another.

Is it not enough only one link ( checklist) and 2 views ( checklist 1 and chechklist 2) that filters by checklist type ?

Hi Thorsten & Sara,

Thanks for your reply.

1+2 : I was really looking for some different solution which will take less effort and without modifying the Webdynpro component. Reason as rightly said, it will cause sometimes unexpected problems and efforts during upgrade.

3 : Sara, we are looking ahead to copy and create same views for different checklist types. The usage of view and filters is usable in our business case.

Pramod

Hi Pramod ,

for 1+2: I believe the only possibility is to enhance the web dynpro components (implicit enhancements). I did this for customers before, but I don't have the exact steps at hand. A disadvantage is that SAP might change the components and you might have re-work after an upgrade (happened for one of my customers from cProjects 4.0 to 5.0).

for 3: I am not sure which navigation bar you refer to. Maybe you can add a screenshot.

Best regards

Thorsten
