SQL error while compression

Former Member

Hi,

I am doing compression for one of the Infocube. For nearly 20 requests it worked fine but now i am getting a SQL error

SQL0802N Arithmetic overflow or other arithmetic exception occurred. SQLSTATE=22003 row=1

Can any one please guide me how to rectify the same and to continue with the compression .

Thanks

what database do you use? MSS, ORA, DB2, SYB,...?

Also, check your system log (SM21) & shortdumps.

It could be that your REDO/UNDO log space (or transaction log) is not large enough.

Hi,

Database is DB6, As such there are no short dumps in the system.

Yes but have you checked the system log (SM21)?

i believe what you are suggesting is correct but unfortunately i dont have authorization for sm21.

Is there any other way i can check.

You can take a look in the compression log (it's on the 'Collapse' tab page), or in the job log of the compression job.  but I'm not sure if you will see the cause there.

You can try to compress only a few requests at a time, if that works it's most certainly the log space.

Thanks 2XU... I try with one request a time and it worked fine, Definitely looks to be a problem with space.

Indeed, I'd contact your BC-team so they can take a look.  You will probable encounter the same problems in the future.
