Workflow in not available in the substitute's inbox.

Dear Experts,

I have a query and could not find any solution for the same.

A user has maintained and adopted the substitution.

Question: Both substitute and the actual agent is getting the workflow for some approval in their respective inbox. When the substitute starts the workflow and clicks on cancel and keep the work item in inbox, The work item disappears from both the substitute's as well as the actual agents inbox.

In SWI5, it says work item is In process and owned by the substitute. Please find the below screen shot of SWI5.

How do I get the work item back in substitute's inbox, even after clicking cancel and keep the work item in inbox.

Please help !
