I work for a company that was bought out a few months ago and all the BI people have left except myself. I am more of a BI developer than an architect and a situation has come up that I am not familiar with. Basis sent me an email stating that they are going to do an ECC refresh from P03 (production) to Q03 (quality) and that I need to handle any BI issues in BP1 (production) and BQ1 (quality). Is there an easy solution I can implement that will not corrupt or harm any of the data in both of my BI environments? We don't care about the data in our BI BQ1 quality system. It does not have to be refreshed. Someone had mentioned that we need to 1. Empty delta queues in BI (using process chains) and 2. Stop all V3 jobs in P03 source system. Isn't there any easier solution like disconnect BQ1 and BP1 from ECC source systems until refresh is complete. I do know one time all the production deltas got wiped out and it took us days to get back to normal.
Any help is most appreciated. All of our archetects have left. Not sure who to turn to now.
Thanks,
Sid J
