Generic datasource - InfoSet and Global Area vs Standars Area

Hi,

I am trying to create an InfoSet as a preparation to create a datasource that reads various QM-data (tabele QASR, QASE etc.).

The problem is that tries to read from the tables QASR og QASE I get an error that the specified table does not exist when I try to create a data source in RSO2 that reads from this infoset. If I create an infoset that reads from table MARA there is no problem - the datasource works as expected.

I have created the InfoSets in the Global Area as I have found out that if they are in the standard area they are not selectable in RSO2.

What have I missed?

Regards,

Christian Frier

hi,

if you created and generated infoset in sq02 and it is in global area you should not have errors when creating data source...

1. Did you have any problems generating infoset?

2. Could you paste here error message code and text?

Regards,

Andrzej

it looks like the problem was that I only created an InfoSet as that is what I am requeste to enter as a source of data when creating a datasource in RSO2

Now that I have created SAP-Queries that uses my three infoset (for MARA, QASE, QASR) they all work as expected...

Now I will continue my expriments and start joining the tables.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Christsian,

Exactly Global area infosets will be available to all clients..where as standard area infosets client specific..

So advisable approach is to create it in global area..

If useful,Assign points...
