Help on DP/SNP alert in macro?

Former Member

Dear all,

I have a question regarding DB alerts in DP/SNP.

Say a product in DP has 3 outliers (january 2010, 2011 and 2012). Is it possible to store this situation as 3 entries of the same DB alert as seen in /SAPAPO/AMON1, each assigned to a different date?

I tried, but I am obtaining one single alert with date corresponding to first bucket (even creating the alert 3 times in the corresponding dates and selecting individual periods for alert creation).

Is it possible??

regards,

J.

Hi, thanks for your time.

This is what I have:

I execute this inside a 36-month step and I get only one alert in /SAPAPO/AMON1, while I was expecting 36 alerts for my test product.

Hi James,

I see no problem in your alert generation process. I think the problem might be how you have nested this alert generation inside your Macro Step.

FYI: I had a similar requirement. But in my case, the Action is not Add. The action is Update in Context.

Could you share the macro step?

Hi Suresh,

This is how I nested it, nothing unusual:

I will try with Update in context, may be I overlooked this.

thanks a lot,

Hi James,

It looks correct. But not sure why it is not working Sorry..

But please be aware that the Add is different from Update in Context logic.

Thanks a lot for your time, I will eventually find what I did wrong when I have some more spare time.

Hi James,

Go to /SAPAPO/ADVM and open your macro.

In the alert generation, under alert type, choose the Time Unit as "Individual planning periods". I hope currently you may be having L (Total planning horizon) or G (Global Validity).

If not solved, let me know what is your alert action (Add/Update/Update in Context) and the time Unit which you are currently using.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Suresh

Hello, Maybe you can share your macro to create the DB alerts?
