Export Data Source

Hi,

I have a situation where I use 'Export Data Source' method to get data from one info cube (1st cube) to another cube(2nd cube). This arrangement worked fine in BW3.1 version. After the upgrade to BW3.5, the extraction works fine but returns ZERO records. I also checked through RSA3 and it gives ZERO records.

Intially when I tried, it gave me 'Replicate Data Source' error. I have replicated and activated the transfer rules and after that the error did not come.

Can any BW expert give me a hint / solution to the above problem.

Hi Venkat / Subbu,

This is a common problem after the upgrade. Run SAP_FACTVIEWS_RECREATE in SE38 and then try loading. It should work.

Hi!

I agree, the SAP_FACTVIEWS_RECREATE report will most likely solve your problem. We used it when we upgraded. There is a good note on this and similar problems - #565086. It also contains a decision tree in an attachment to the note.

Hi Bhanu / Andreas:

I have looked at the program and it does not have any selection criterion.

Can I run this program while other users are testing their stuff in our team.

Is it something I need to tell my basis team to execute by locking all the users.

I am afraid that the program is going to 'recreate fact views' of all cubes in the system and it may affect others too.

Please suggest.

As per the run in our system, it really did not affect any users or any other processes. It does not run for too long either, so you should be okay.

Hi Subbu,

After any patch/version upgrade the datamart datasources will have replication problems and the transfer structures will become inactive. So after upgrade all the datasources with 8**** needs to be replicated and the respective transfer rules to be activated.

Are you still getting 0 records. Just check whether you are passing the correct parameters for the data to be fetched from 1st cube.

Try to activate the second , cube and export datasource then try the load..after upgradation have u activated the cube??

Hi,

You can't expect records in BW if you don't have records in R/3. Since, you got zero records in RSA3, it means that the Data source do nt contain any records. Check the corresponding tables in r3 to see if you have data in them.

Thank you for your quick response.

The issue is not with the R/3 extraction.

I am able to extract successfully into info cube from R/3. The first info cube contains records. It is fine. When I try to extract the data from this info cube into another info cube in the same BW system, I get the issue of ZERO records.
