Cannot publish Dashboard Universe to Repository (using IDT)

Hi All, am facing the following problem while trying to publish .BLX (businsess layer) file into the repository ( using IDT) -

When i select the repository folder into which the universe has to be created and press 'Finish', nothing seems to happen. I do not get a confirmation regarding the success or failure of the process. Am able to publish other objects like connections to the repository .. what could be the issue ?

Am able to publish the universe locally .. using .cnx connection type.

Hi,

Check if you have the Shortcut created for the connections.

Thanks Amit. Have checked it and am using the shortcut (secured connection to publish the Universe). I have admin right in the CMC as well. Have made an observation, not sure though how valid it is - when i choose the connection in the data foundation layer, the check box against the shortcut connection gets filled in blue (not by a checkmark) while a checkmark appears in the checkbox against local connection (when the local connection is selected) .. guess the shortcut is not getting selected properly .. cannot be sure though ..

Hi saurabh,

have you published the connection first then creates DF or BL?

Please confirm if steps are followed in order

1) create a connection (cnx)

2) publish the connection (cns)

3) build a DF on top of cns

4) build a BL on DF

let me know if following if my understanding for your issue is correct.

Hi All,

I am also facing the same issue as stated by Saurabh above, nothing is happening when i click on Finish while publishing the universe to the repository.

I have followed the following steps while creating the universe

1) create a connection (cnx) to MS Sql Server through ODBC

2) publish the connection (cns)

3) build a DF on top of cns

4) build a BL on DF

and then trying to publish the .blx business layer.But nothing is happening when i click on finish.

Any ideas why the universe is not getting published.
