I am trying to have one J2EE application, only run on two of the four server nodes of our EP 6.0 SP 9 system. When we restart the Portal, the application automatically starts on both physical servers and each of the two server processes on those server. I can use Visual Admin to stop two of the processes or I can use Telnet > Add Deploy and stop_app, but I would like to not have to manually do this for each restart.
Do you know if there is a way to only start one instance of the application on each of the physical servers? Is there a "script" that I could run to shutdown two of the four if all four start?
Other ideas?
Thanks!

Hello Stephen,
In principal all server nodes are supposed to be identical. However there is a property of the deploy service on every server node, where you can specify the applications, which you do not want to start. The name of the property is Initially_Not_Started_Apps. You can read more about it at: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0e/fb29feebc73248a3d097a229a5d548/content.htm
I hope this will help.
Kind Regards
Vyara
