Make different PA30 screens available to different user groups.

Hi all,

I hope you can give me an idea how to set this up.

I have a group of HR users who have full access to PA30, and a group of time keepers (not HR persons) who need access to time infotypes only (2000, 2001...) in PA30 but not anything else.

Security gave time keepers the role without infotype 2 access to restrict them from personal data, but time keepers want to do personnel number check function to look up people in PA30 by names, to do that, infotype 2 has to be granted.

Under security User Maintenace screen, there's a tab for "User group".

Would it be possible to configure in SPRO and assign particular user groups with different infotype access? if that's possible, I can give time keepers access to only time infotype in PA30 based on their ID's user group.

I tried to look but not sure if this is the right place to do that in SPRO? (see below). I have to make sure they don't see option to go to infotype 2 and also they don't have access to see infotype 2 screen as well.

Thanks,

Thanks all for your answers, I figured it out, it's a combination of setting up user group in infotype menu to allow certain tabs or infotypes to each group, adding UGR parameter to security user account, also, set up screen variant for PA30 to hide infotype / subtype box since infotype menu can only hide the infotype, but does not restrict user to type in sensitive data infotypes.

    Hi Bon,

To make access restriction for info types , you have to restrict only by giving authorization for particular info type. But via user group you can restrict only the view off the info type menu and actions menu.

Ex. You have 2 Actions like hiring and promotion and also you have 2 user group like X and Y.

Now your requirement is you have restrict the view of the actions for user group X that he should not view the promotion action in PA40.

This you can do by USER GROUP for info type menu and actions.
