I'm running Dashboards version 6.0.4.0, build 14.0.4.738 with Office 2010. We have dashboard files that were created on a different machine using the same version of Dashboards and Office 2007. Now I am unable to open the dashboard files on my machine due to an error saying "Could not connect to Microsoft Excel. To prevent further data corruption, the program must close."
I should mention that I have tried numerous times to kill the processes running and restart and that has not worked. This issue has only begun happening after Office 2010 was installed and I do not suspect that the XLF file is corrupt since it can still be opened on the machine it was created on. Are there any compatibility issues with Dashboards and version of Office?
Hi Anthony,
This is basically excel issue.
Which connections have you used in the dashboard ?
Try to perform following steps:
1. Open the dashboard where it works (with office 2007)
2. Export the excelsheet from Data menu of Dashboards 4.0.
3. Save the exported excelsheet with .xls format.
4. Open the dashboard and import .xls excelsheet.
5. Save the dashboard.
6. Now open it in Dashboards 4.0 with office 2010.
Let me know if this works.
Thanks,
Tejas
