Mini SAP: No layout preview in the WebDynpro Explorer

Hi,

first I posted this issue in the ABAP in Eclipse forum (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3229944) but maybe here I'm also correct.

I successfully installed the current NetWeaver Trial version. Everything works fine besides one thing:

I'm not able to display the layout preview in the WebDynpro Explorer. I receive the information that the website cannot be displayed.

Does anybody know which settings are missing?

I already followed the hints provided in the other thread:

Best regards,

Markus

Now it works.

Summary of the missing steps since the installation:

  • Activate the Web Services in SICF
  • The entry in the hosts file was not correct (see answer above)
The correct IP address can be found using ipconfig
  • add profile parameter icm/server_port_0 (transaction RZ10). I set the parameter values to PROT=HTTP,PORT=80$$,PROCTIMEOUT=600

Dear Markus,

Please define a host entry in your host file which will be located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host.txt as follows,

<ip_address>*tab_space_here*<fully qualified domain name>

eg:

172.78.9.0     xyz.com(then press enter and save it)

place one extra line after you put this entry and save it.

Use notepad to edit that file and run notepad as administrator or else you wont be able to save it.

Hello Rumeshbabu,

thank you for your response. I added an entry to the host file as you suggested and now I come one step forward.

Now I receive another error:

"The content is blocked due to the following condition: The URL you have requested is blocked by Surf Protection. If you think this is wrong, please contact your administrator."

I was asked to deactivate the proxy for my local installation. Is this possible? And how?

Regards,

Markus
