Costing Run - Always Recost Material Indicator (KALA-NOUEB)

1356 Views

Hi Experts,

Would appreciate your expertise re the use of the above subject matter.

In general, I understand that when this indicator is switched on, the system will re-cost all the materials selected in the costing run. However, in reading the help (F1) documentation for this indicator, I came across the following statements which I am not clear.

Statement 1:

"If the quantity structure is determined for all the selected materials in the costing run, transfer control becomes active again. For materials that were determined via BOM explosion, the system looks for an existing cost estimate according to the transfer strategy."

In the costing run, I only selected plant and material type. I didn't put any selection or values in the material selection parameter. With Quantity Structure indicator is switched on for all materials in the material master.

Based on the above statement, does it mean that for lower level materials, the system will revert back to the transfer control strategy and ignore the 'Always Recost Material" indicator?

Statement 2:

Dependencies "If you set this indicator, you cannot select the individual costing levels in the costing run and cost them individually. Costing can only be carried out for all costing levels."

What does this mean?

Thank you for your reply.
