HANA and JAVA-Stack

296 Views

Hello HANA experts

Currently we are not using HANA but thinking about it in the near future.

We are using SAP BW 7.01 and Integrated Planning (BW-IP).

While the business uses input-enabled fields for the key figures to be planned, they have an additional option to input a comment in another column;

everything is done in SAP Portal, embedding a web template.

This comment-solution was established by this module: com.sap.ip.bi.rig.DocumentContent

All comments are stored in a cm documents folder in the SAP Portal (JAVA stack).

During runtime of the web template every navigation step is done in a propper time until it comes to the upload of comments!

My question: Does SAP HANA also include this Portal technology in its HANA database "box" or is the JAVA stack outside this box?

We would like to know if we can expect a much higher performance if we migrate from BW7.01 to BW7.30 powered by HANA.

Thank you for your replies in advance.
