Hello,
Has anyone experienced slow performance on Predictive Analysis when using the HANA reader/writers?
Algorithms that usually take seconds with excel/csv are taking a long time with HANA. Ex. Multi-Linear Regression with a single independent variable on a small dataset (only 1000 records) is taking ~5 minutes to execute.
Is it normal that working with HANA from PA is slower than working with flat files?
Thanks in advanced for your help!
HI Sebastain, I would check on the configuration on how PA is setup. We had some good performance benchmarks with PA running over HANA. last executed was within 5 mins for 9.5MM data using Apriori Algorithm.
Is PA installed as sql anywhere as DB vs. HANA as db?
what is the size of your HANA box, CPU?
I would also check directly from HANA studio the records you are fetching by a select query to see if its returning fast and the table is loaded to memory...
-Thanks,
Vinod Nair.
