Implementing EHP6.

Dear all,

We alreday finished intergration test with EHP6 in our testing system.

We plan to implement EHP6 in the beginning of the November in our productive system.

Does anybody know about recommendations from SAP covering the EHP6 implementing in productive system? We defined the most appropriate moment for system's downtime in order to avoid big financial losses for the company. At that time, the period is not closed and there will be still material movements afterwards.

We will aprreciate the answers.

Best regards,

Linh.

Hello Linh,

As you have already sucesffuly implmented in DEV, you have the experience of the procedure.

I would recommend to take a copy of the productive system and make another test run using the copy of production. This way you know exactly how much time it should take on your real production system. Best test is to use a copy of the production system, and run the EHP implementation on this copy, on similar hardware specs as your real prod system.

Paul

Dear Paul,

Thank you for the answer.

When we tested EHP6, we already made a copy of production system and run the EHP implementation on this copy. We found some problems and were able to solve it during the test.

Now we are preparing to implement EHP6 on production system and we wonder if there are any recommendation from SAP covering this subject. This question was raised as we want to minimize the possible risks that somehow can affect the company's business.

Best regards,

Linh.

Hi Linh,

As you ran the test run on a copy of prod, and have noted any issues encountered, you should be prepared for the actual production system implementation. There is not a separate procedure or extra steps when doing the production run, in fact, it should be done the exact same as your test on the copy of prod, so that it runs the same.

regards,

Paul
