ERP installation fail on Windows 2008 R2 Server Foundation

Hi there

I am attempting to install ERP6 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server (Foundation Edition), using 51038621_13.

Unfortunately, before any options are specified (Other than MaxDB/Central system), the following error is returned:

"The subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\silsvc' does not exist on the 'localhost' host"

On closer inspection, it turns out that the registry key does exist, by the Administrator user does not have access to read it.

Why does the SAPINST/ERP implementation require access to this registration key?

Why is this registration key locked?

How can I get around this issue?

Regards

Joe
