Web intelligence slow - Windows 7 64bit

Hi all,

i recieved new computer with win 7 64bit and have a lot of trouble with web intelligence (Business objects 4.0, SP4).

It runs very very slow. I am using web browser - mozilla, latest version. On my old computer everything works fine, but it has win xp.

Both computers are using java version 1.6.0_29. Are there any issues with win 7 or the problem is somewhere in my computer?

Thanks for any help.

Best regards,

Martin Zluky

My computer is Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit and I don't have this kind of issue. It runs pretty good and fast.

Maybe, it is your patch level. What patch level are you on BO Client tools?

HI Martin

I have no performance issues running Webi (Web or Rich Client version) on my laptop.

Software installed on my laptop:

  • Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
  • Adobe Reader 10.x
  • Adobe Flash Player 11.x
  • Java JDK 7 Update 9 32-bit
  • Java JDK 7 Update 9 64-bit
  • IE9 32-bit
  • SAP GUI 730
  • SAP BusinessObjects BI 4 Platform Tools

I also did adjust my laptop's virtual memory as well (formula = Installed memory [Gb] x 3 + 1.5).

Martin,

The problem is related to Mozilla / FireFox / Chrome, try it with IE 8 or IE 9.   This is because Win7 is more tightly integrated with IE and other browsers do NOT very well.  Also the PAR for BI 4.0 does NOT support Mozilla.

Martin,

Make sure you are using IE 8 - 32Bit version and also that JVM 1.6.0.35 or higher 32bit version is installed.   If the problem persists than it sounds like you have issue related to your Win7 - 64bit install.

Ajay

I see you mention that you have to use the IE 32Bit version.

We have also in this company the IE 64bit version on which webi does not work, after going back to the start webi in 32Bit version, all users receive a BWP error.

Doe you happen to know why?>
