RSA7 / RSA3

Hello Experts,

1)I cannot see any records in RSA7 for most of the Datasources that are in the queue. I know that the records are there as data is constantly being pulled thru Informatica. I dont understand what is the problem.

2)Also, What does RSA3 show?

Thank You.

Hi all,

you will not find any data in the Delta Queue because of two reasons:

- Usually, DataSources from 3rd party source systems are not delta enabled = Delta Queue not used in full update

- Only DataSources that are connect to SAP source systems (including MYSELF or XML/SOAP) use the Delta Queue as of today. Example: even delta enabled Flat File DataSources do not use the Delta Queue.´

Hi Priya,

1> Check what type of update method is used in R3 to update Delta queues. If it is 'Queues Delta' or 'Unserialized V3', only after update collective run, the data will appear in RSA7

2> RSA3 is extraction checker and it will show exactly what data you will be getting thru normal Delta/Full extraction.

Hi Priya,

Was DATA being extracted from R/3 using V3 or Queued Delta. If it is from a long time, then there must be entries in RSA7. If they are not, then it means someone has deleted the DELTA QUEUE. This could potentially be a very big issue. Reason being there is no DELTA, and hence you will not be in a position to pull any data to BW.

If you are using QUEUED DELTA, execute the below stated programs, depending on the area of interest

BWRMBWV311

BWRMBWV312

BWRMBWV313

Hi Praveen,

I am not sure how to run these programs. we are using informatica to pull data not BW. So how to know what is the data available in the tables itself ,and how to c it in RSA3 / RSA7.

I am kind of confused.

RSA3 : is to check if the extractor is working fine. what result decides that its working fine.

Does it also have data in the delta queue

RSA7 : Shows updated data in the delta queue

PLease correct me if I am wrong.

thanks a lot for your responses

Using Informatica implies that BAPIs are used to get data into BW. In such case, RSA7 is not going to have any records for such datasources.

Your understanding of RSA3 and 7 is correct, but it may not help for informatica based extraction validation.

Hi Priya,

About RSA3: This is the Extractor checker tool. Using this transaction and supplying an active data source you can execute to see what data the extraction will pull up for loading into BW. This helps to look at the data without having to create the entire data flow in BW. Also it is very useful in resolving data load issues as you can check whether the issue is on the source side or BW side.

Hope this helps...
